We had a friend birthday party for Mathew yesterday (only 2 weeks after his birthday). He wanted a "batman" birthday. At our house that translates to mean that that is what his cake will look like and maybe some crepe paper to match that color...sometimes the invitations will even go along with the theme. This time they didn't.
This is the cake we had. Mathew didn't want a chocolate cake, so it is a homemade, yes homemade (not from a box) yellow cake. The icing is store bought though. I made the cake and Michael decorated it. We also had some cupcakes that were frosted yellow and had chocolate sprinkles on them. We sang to Mathew and had a candle in the cake and then we served the kids the cupcakes. We decided the black would be TOO messy and cupcakes are easier for kids to eat outside.
Here is the vanilla icing turned yellow and the chocolate icing turned black.
Michael did an AMAZING job decorating the cake and making it with the bat symbol on it. It was also VERY yummy (messy but yummy)!
