Originally we were going to go camping Memorial Day weekend and travel on Mathew's birthday and so we would have celebrated while camping. We ended up not going that weekend so my parents kept his gifts and Mathew was able to open them then.
When my parents visited in April the kids were playing with Magnetix like CRAZY! and we don't own very many...or we didn't. My parents thoroughly enjoyed watching the kids play with them. So Grandma got Mathew two different sets of a variety of sizes and kinds and balls.
We let Mathew play magnetix in the trailer the first day he had them for a little while. Then we put them safely away until we got home to Grandma and Grandpa's house. While playing in the trailer Grandma even joined in and they all had a lot of fun with them.

Mathew also had somethings to open from Auntie Renee. He got a Spiderman bat and ball and...
Spiderman bandaids. He used one the first day...I'm not sure if he had an actually ouchy or not.
Between having his actually birthday, his friends party a couple of weeks later and opening gifts with Grandma and Grandpa Green a couple of weeks after that, we have been celeberating Mathew's birthday for a month.
