Potatoes! We tried to grow them last year and it didn't happen. This was our first potato. We pulled out a few and made homemade fries. They were DELICIOUS!! Yesterday we pulled up another 10 to 15 and made mashed potatoes to go with our roast. It was yummy!
Here is our lettuce...it doesn't taste as good this year, but it is nice to have.
The corn crop around this year didn't do so well. It didn't get as tall as it should have. We are still waiting to see how the actually ears do.
Michael planted some HUGE sunflowers for me this year. Even though there is no flower on this plant right now, the plant follows the sun. It is awesome!
Here is one of our pumpkins from a couple of weeks ago. I haven't taken a more recent picture yet, but they are getting big. I believe this type is one of the pumpkins to actually cook with.
We also have cabbage, carrots, green beans, zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, strawberries, watermelon, spinach and maybe even a bit more...Our apricot tree did well this year too and Michael has already been making his apricot jam. Yummy!!! Having the fresh veggies with our meals has been so delicious and so nice not to have to spend money on them.
