We got to experience an active almost 10 month old at our house for the weekend. We had fun watching my little nephew Newell get into all kinds of things. He had one of the cutest smiles and LOVED flirting with me.
I received a mylar balloon for my birthday and he LOVED it! I ended up tying it to his walker so he could reach it and play with it without knocking things over or letting the balloon rise into the air too far. We enjoyed watching him play with it the first day, especially when he ended up with it between his feet laying on the string.
We love the somewhat blank look he liked to give us. It was also fun to pull out some of the toys my kids got when they were babies.
I wish we had a picture of what came in between these last two and after this one...more cute smiles!
Newell's dad said that it turns out Tiny Newell is a fairy...heehee.
Both the little boys wore their overalls the same day and I wanted a picture of them together, but tiny Newell LOVED the baby and wanted to get to him, so there was no way to take a picture of just the two of them. I had to have someone run "interference" when I would lay Nicholas on the ground to change his diaper...Newell is very fast!
He also likes his food...when my parents and Amy got there they brought in Amy's travel bag, which included Amy's snacks.
His favorite of which were the Oreos...he kept trying to get into the bag...it was the funniest thing.
Horsey Ride
These are two of Nicholas' cousins born less than a year ago. Newell is on Kristy's side and is 10 months and Brock is on Michael's side and is 8 months. On the King side there is another little cousin (James) born in September and one more due in about 2 weeks or so. So there will be 4 cousins about 9 months apart. And on the Green side there is one more little guy who is 10 days younger than Nicholas making a total of 3 boys within about 9 months of each other. Lots of cousins, so much fun!
We finally put up the gate the evening of the baby blessing...Newell is a little problem solver though and he had the gate part way down at one point. It was fun to watch the problem solving, but I felt bad for his mom who seemed to be chasing him all weekend. But she enjoyed having extra time with him that she usually doesn't get.
He had beautiful bright blue eyes and I already miss his flirty smile. Allison and Mathew LOVED playing with him (and his toys). Allison spent quite a bit of time playing with, carrying him around, and enjoying his interaction...it was very different from having a newborn baby. So even though there is 6 and 8 years between my two kids and their little cousin Newell, they had a great time with him and we all enjoyed his squealing (very high pitched and loud) happy nature!
