Little Cousins

Recently I had the privilege of being in charge of these two while Judy attended some of Women's Conference.

There is six months difference between Nicholas and Brock and it has made a world of difference until recently. This last year Judy has been helping me with Nicholas once a week so I can go into the school and help in the kid's classrooms. The last few months Brock has been awake and around when Nicholas is there. Originally there was MUCH jealousy about who was being held or who was getting the attention of the adult. Lately though they have been playing more and interacting more and more. It is interesting because their sisters were 2 months apart, but we are pretty sure they didn't interact much until like 3 years old or something, but of course they weren't around each other regularly as one lived in Raymond, Alberta Canada and the other here in the USA in Springville.

The morning I watched them they chased each other thru the house for 10 minutes straight...just laughing and screaming with happiness. They would copy each other, if one was standing up leaning against the couch then the other did too. At one point they would take turns getting each other to start jumping on the couch. When we had first gotten there Brock sat down next to his brother Brody on the floor in front of the movie Cars and patted the floor next to him for Nicholas to sit down...of course Nicholas doesn't understand that yet, but it was SUPER cute!! And a little later Nicholas was doing the come on gesture with his hand and fingers trying to get Brock to follow him again.

Of course along with interacting and playing together and all that is getting into trouble together.

This is one of the places they like to both go and pull at this fake tree. One of their favorite things is to try and put whatever toy they have up in the leaves. Judy has also mentioned some of their trouble making as they follow each other through the house and get into bookshelves, the printer, kitchen cabinets, etc.

They are quite a pair, but they were very fun to watch the other morning and made it quite a joy to take care of them...

...of course until crankiness settled in because of hunger, needing naps and normal 18 month-2 year needs and crankiness.

I love those boys and I love that they are growing up together near each other for awhile!
