Dear Family and Friends,
We have had a good busy year and feel blessed to have the family and friends that we have.
Allison turned 7 this year and finished 1st grade and started 2nd grade. She is very smart and really enjoys reading and school. She just finished a report on Hungary for school. She was also a part of the school choir and had two concerts (January and April) and had family visiting for both of her concerts. In January she and her dad went skiing together for the first time and enjoyed themselves. Also this year Allison lost her first tooth in January and her second tooth in July. She has learned how to rollerblade from her dad. She enjoys riding her scooter, her bike, jumping rope and playing with her brother and with friends.
Mathew turned 5 and started Kindergarten in August and LOVES it! If it were up to him, he would eat breakfast, eat lunch and go to school (one immediately after the other). He wrote his “travelling tales” book for kindergarten in October, it is a wonderful keepsake for him. He also got a big haircut in January that has officially removed his major curls…now he just has big hair when it isn’t short. He has finally learned to ride his two wheeler and he just takes off. He loves it! He also enjoys learning from his sister, riding her scooter and playing with his sister and friends.
Kristy has kept busy this year helping out in the classrooms at school and with the Young Women. She was released from being Young Women’s secretary and put in as Stake YW’s Sports Director. She enjoyed doing volleyball with the girls in October/November. She has also been busy doing jigsaw puzzles, reading and doing the normal housework and taking care of her family. She was also lucky to enjoy time with her sisters, some old friends and an old roommate during the year. She has also been working on some personal Family history and learning more about her family that is alive and some that are more recently gone. She also learned more about Hungary (while helping Allison) and also more about her Great Grandparents who came from Hungary.
Michael is in his 5th working for Wasatch Mental Health and is now a supervisor therapist. Michael made an igloo in January this year, with some help from Allison. This summer he enjoyed planting his garden and growing things again. He grew delicious potatoes and carrots and wonderful pumpkins for our jack-o-lanterns and our pumpkin pies. He also grew many other things. This year he made some yummy apricot and strawberry jam as well. He also planted and grew HUGE sunflowers especially for Kristy. He stays busy with work, his calling as Elder’s Quorum Secretary at church and with his family. He especially enjoys playing with his kids and teaching them.
Michael’s Opa passed away in April this year and we were able to make a trip up to be with the family. We still miss Opa a lot.
We had a new niece join the King family in August and are excited for another (neice or nephew) to join around June of this coming year. Also Allison and Mathew will get their first cousin (a little boy) on the Green side of the family in May. We are VERY excited!
We enjoyed many family activities this year like fishing and hiking. We also liked spending time this summer at 7 Peaks Water Park. Both kids are swimming SO well and love the water.
At the end of June, we went camping with all of Kristy’s family in Arizona and then the kids and Kristy stayed in Arizona for a couple of weeks before Kristy’s sister Stacy got married. Michael rejoined the family for the wedding before we all headed home.
Kristy and Michael celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary in August.
We enjoyed visits from family members throughout the year and enjoyed visiting both Alberta, Canada and Arizona.
